CHIRON brings together the teachers of logistics, transport and international trade who use PVL in their classrooms. We share what works, compare how our students decide, and build the method together.

There is nothing to join: CHIRON comes with your centre's Open Lab licence. If you teach with Port Virtual Lab, you are already one of us.

Every teacher whose centre holds an Open Lab licence is a member from day one. How active you are is up to you.

You share what works

Classroom activities, adaptations and lessons learnt, written in a common format so that others can reuse them.

Mar is the bridge between the Port Virtual Lab team and the teachers who use it. She listens to what teachers need, helps bring simulation and real logistics scenarios into the classroom, and turns good classroom practice into resources the whole network can reuse. She draws on extensive experience in the logistics and port sector.

Our method

The CHIRON loop

A five-step sequence for any Port Virtual Lab scenario. The simulator gives us the professional context; we build the learning around it. The teacher is the guide on the side, not the sage on the stage.

  1. Analyse

    Students read the operation and identify what is at stake.

  2. Decide

    Each group commits to a decision before running the simulator.

  3. Simulate

    PVL plays the decision out in a realistic professional scenario.

  4. Justify

    Groups explain their choice and the evidence behind it.

  5. Reflect

    The class compares different decisions: the comparison is the lesson.
